Name: Rock the Red Kettle Challenge
Date: December 5, 2017 - December 23, 2017
Event Description:
The Salvation Army is Rocking the Red Kettle from now until Christmas Eve in hopes of changing lives 365 days a year. We are looking for churches, corporate, and civic groups that would be willing to volunteer to man one of our Red Kettles between now and Dec. 23rd for either a 4 hour shift or 8 hour shift Monday - Saturday! We have locations throughout Davidson, Sumner and Williamson counties, so we can find one that is close to you! Your volunteers can work 1 to 2 hour blocks on your day in groups of 2 to 3 people!

If your group is unable to commit to volunteering, we also have Online Kettle's that can be created for your group! Its a great team building opportunity - to set your goal to change lives, and then all work together to meet that goal!

Many people think the Red Kettles are for purchasing gifts for the Angel Tree program or providing holiday meals and shelter. But, that is not the case. Nashville’s support of the Angel Tree is so great that our toy needs are provided every year through adopting angels or giving to the Forgotten Angel program. Every dollar put into a kettle goes into CHANGING LIVES through our year-round programming.

Programming that includes community meals, assistance with rent and utility bills to prevent people from being on the streets, and providing a Supportive Housing Shelter to families, single women and men who find themselves experiencing homelessness; and rapidly getting them back on stable ground and into their own homes. News Channel 5 is partnering with us for the Rock the Red Kettle Challenge. Groups who take up the call to volunteer at a kettle will be mentioned on air, and may be selected to issue challenges of their own!
