In his career, he has served as a teacher and coach, the Director of Marketing and Communication for national on-site healthcare company, a football official for the Ohio Valley and Mid-South conferences where he was selected to work the NAIA Football National Championship. He has also devoted his time to serving as a deacon for the Hilldale Church of Christ and serving as a Board Member for the Yow Foundation, Living Sent Ministries, and the Grant James Foundation, an organization founded by Garrett and Kristin to serve as the benefactor for those groups that serve and minister to families impacted by infertility, miscarriage, and abortion.
In 2016, Garrett launched a financial planning practice with Thrivent. He recognized an opportunity to live out his faith and meet an incredible social need of financial literacy and financial planning in the Christian Community. He was asked in 2018 to step into a leadership role in the South Central. He is now focused on identifying and coaching successful people that have an entrepreneurial spirit, are driven to lead their community through the stewardship of business, and desire to provide financial impact in non-profits and churches to advance the Kingdom. He believes everything we have is a gift from God, and we are simply called to use the time, talents, and treasures we have been given to the best our ability for Him.
BRIEF TOPIC DESCRIPTION:
We all have a responsibility to steward well the time, talents, and treasures in which we have been blessed. Our mission to impact for the Kingdom should permeate all aspects of who we are and in all we do. How does who you are and what you do fit into God?s Plan and His Purpose for you? There are no small gifts, no small talents in the hands of God. We must respond to what we have been called to steward with a faith in our Creator and let Him turn it into a work that greater than anything we could have ever envisioned on our own.
